County, Virginia. From that day until August 1996, my only time to live outside of that county was the four
years I served in the U. S. Air Force. Both of my parents' families have lived here for generations. So it's
not unusual that I have a great love for Pittsylvania County, Virginia: its people, its land and its history. I've
spent years studying the earliest settlers of these foot hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of my
