PITTSYLVANIA COUNTYVIRGINIA

On a cold winter day in January 1941, I was born in a log cabin on my daddy's farm at Blairs in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. From that day until August 1996, my only time to live outside of that county was the four years I served in the U. S. Air Force.1 Both of my parents' families have been there for generations. So it's not unusual that I have a great love for Pittsylvania County, Virginia: its people, its land and its history.

I've spent years studying the earliest settlers of these foot hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of my findings are shown on these pages.  For questions or information about my posters of the area's history, please email me.
